In order to attend a recognised
school establishment on a full time basis at the primary, high, collegial
or university lever, one must apply for a "Quebec Acceptation Certificate"
issued by the Quebec government as a" Student Authorisation" issued by the
Canadian government.
The" Quebec Acceptation Certificate" for schooling purposes is subjected
to the following procedures and conditions:
CONDITIONS:
Over 18 years of age student
must:
- Maintain admission in a Quebec recognised
schooling establishment;
- Having enough money to cover
- travel costs ( return airfare)
- school tuition
- means of subsistence for the intended stay (
estimated cost at 9,600.00 $ per year)
- Health care and hospitalisation coverage for
the entire stay in Quebec ( does not apply to nationals of France,
Denmark, Finland, Norway - college and university levels Sweden and
Portugal - all levels).
Under 18 years of age student
must also supply:
- Parents or tutor sworn in declaration
- authorising school stay in Quebec,
- naming a Quebec resident as tutor for the
duration of the school stay
- A tutor declaration by the Quebec resident
including
- proof of financial capacity for student tutor,
- engagement to shelter and provide for such
student during the intended stay.
PROCEDURE
Applicant wishing to study in
Quebec must fill out the acceptation certificate form and return with
requested documents to the appropriate Quebec Immigration office.
The submitted application is then
completed according to the following steps:
- a "Quebec Acceptation Certificate" is granted
to the Applicant when in compliance with requirements:
Quebec's decision is then
communicated to the concerned Canadian Embassy for "Student Authorisation"
issuance, after completing required formalities .
